Reasons Why Your Tire Pressure Light is Illuminated

The tire pressure light in your vehicle will illuminate the second air pressure drops out of the recommended range. Here are some of the causes of that drop in air pressure.

There are many things on the road you may run over that get stuck in the car tires and are hard to see. You may run over a small nail and the end simply cuts off from driving on it for miles, so the piece in the tread is simply allowing air to escape. The air temperature dropping by as little as ten degrees could result in a drop in tire pressure of a pound. Add into the mix air is naturally escaping from the tires at a rate of a pound a month, and you see why the pressure light could be lit.

Don't ignore the tire pressure light coming on; bring your vehicle to our Portland service center so our team can identify the issue.
