How to Jump Start a Vehicle

At some point during vehicle ownership, a car or truck may not start. Jumping the battery using another vehicle may be a desirable solution.

Bring the vehicle noses as close together as possible. Turn both vehicles off. Attach the positive jumper cable to the positive post on the battery. Attach the other positive to the good battery. Then, attach the negative jumper cables to the negative post to the dead battery and the other end to an unrelated metal component.

Is There a Quick-Fix for a Head Gasket Leak?

A head gasket that leaks is called a blown head gasket. Blown head gaskets can allow excess air into the combustion chamber or allow oil or other fluid leaks along the seal between the block and cylinder head. Blown head gaskets are, at first, hard to diagnose. But as time passes and the pressure and heat have their way, the leaks become more substantial and undeniable.
